GAIBANDHA, March 25, 2022 (BSS) - The district administration recently
honored the freedom fighters here visiting their homes for their
contributions during the Liberation War.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) and also district magistrate Md Oliur Rahman on
Thursday went to the homes of 25 freedom fighters of Sadar upazila, who are
ill due to old age complications, and gave financial assistance and packets
of sweet marking the Independence and National Day-2022.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Oliur Rahman termed the freedom fighters as the
golden sons of the soil and said it is our foremost duty to respect them and
inquire about their wellbeing.

During his visit, the DC inquired about the health condition and treatment of
the freedom fighters.

The freedom fighters were very happy and expressed their gratefulness to the
DC for remembering them.

The DC also visited 12 under-construction houses being built for the freedom
fighters.

Sadar UNO Rafiul Alam, former commander of Sadar upazila Muktijoddha Sangshad
Ali Akbar Miah, former deputy commander Khoybar Hossain, freedom fighters
Shamsul Alam Sarker Dudu, Abdul Matin, Reazul Haque Chowdhury, Shahidul
Islam, and Ziaul Haque accompanied the DC during his visit.
