CHATTOGRAM, March 20, 2022 (BSS) -The Eastern Zone of Bangladesh Railway
(BR) in a daylong drive today evicted over 837 unauthorised shops and
dwelling houses built on railway land in city's Goalpara area under Kotwali
thana and recovered about 1.77 acres of land.

  "We have evicted over 837 makeshift semi-pukka shops and houses from
Goalpara area under Kotwali thana and recovered about 1.77 acres of land upon
the directives of the BR authority", said Mahbub Karim, divisional state
officer of Bangladesh railway eastern zone.

   The drive will continue to recover the rest of railway land in the port
city, he added.
