RAJSHAHI, Feb 23, 2022 (BSS) - At least five police personnel were injured when Jamaat-Shibir men attacked them at Bagha Upazila in the district this afternoon.

     According to the police sources, the Jamaat-Shibir men unleashed the violent attack on the on-duty police personnel at in-front of Bagha Mazar Gate around 5.30 pm.

     Sazzad Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bagha Police Station, said the warring people pelted stones and brickbats and hurled cocktails on the police.

     He said the injured cops are: Assistant Sub Inspectors of Police Abdur Rahim and Montu Mian and Constables Abdul Ahad, Harunur Rashid and Prodip. They were given first aid at the nearby health complex, he added.

     OC Hossain said police arrested seven Jamaat-Shibir men from the place of occurrence just after the incident.

     The arrested persons were Razib Ahmed, 30, Shafiqul Islam, 25, Hafizul Haque, 41, Sekendar Ali, 55, Khoshbur Rahman, 25, Abdul Mannaf, 30, and Nasir Uddin, 49.
