MANIKGANJ, Feb 10, 2022 (BSS) – Members of the Detective Branch (DB) of Police in separate drives arrested two presumed drug peddlers from Manikganj sadar upazila bus stand area and Daulatpur  upazila of the district today.

The arrested were identified as Md. Babul Mia, 33, son of Nayan Mia of Joyra village under Manikganj sadar upazila and Harun Or Rashid, 42, son of late Foyej Mondal of Khoddar Moheshpur village under Daulatpur upazila of the district.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Manikganj DB Police Md Nazrul Islam said, on a tip-off, a team of the DB police conducted raids in the aforesaid areas and nabbed Babul and Harun with the contraband drugs.

“The team also recovered 200 pieces of yaba tablets and 300 gram of ganja from their possession,” he said, adding that two separate cases were filed with Manikganj and Daulatpur Police Stations in these connections under the Narcotic Control Act.
