No COVID-19 deaths for 12th consecutive days in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, Feb 10, 2022 (BSS) – The Covid-19 situation of the district is continuing to improve while no death cases were reported due to the lethal virus for the 12th consecutive days today.

Manikganj district Health Department said that the positivity rate of Covid-19 is continuing to decline in the district for several days.

A total of 48 people were found positive for Covid-19 after testing 196 samples in Colonel Maleque Medical College PCR Lab in the last 24 hours till this morning, raising the total infections to 9,271 in the district that was showing the detection rate 24.48 percent.

Among the newly detected patients, 29 are from Sadar upazila, two from Ghior, two from Harirampur, four from Saturia, seven from Singair, two from Daulatpur and two from Shibalaya upazila of the district, civil surgeon office sources said here today.

Medical Officer of the civil surgeon office Dr. Rounok Mushrafe said  a total of 9,271 people were detected positive for coronavirus in the district so far after testing 52,294 samples.

“Besides, the number of cured patients from the lethal virus stood at 8,301 in the district,” he said, adding that 12 infected patients are taking treatment at the dedicated hospitals while 831 are at their respective houses.

The death toll from the virus remains at 127 in the district, he mentioned.
