RANGPUR, Sept 7, 2026 (BSS) - The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) in a market surveillance campaign has fined five business establishments TK 50,000 in Badarganj upazila of the district.
The Rangpur divisional and district offices jointly conducted the campaign and inspected various chilling centres, feed and meat shops in the Railgate Bazar number 13 and Badarganj Bazar areas of Badarganj upazila on Monday.
In the campaign, Rangpur dairy products was fined TK 25,000, Pran Dairy TK 10,000, Ma Traders TK 7,000, Abwa Banijya Bhandar TK 6,000 and Habibar Gosth Ghar TK 2,000 for violating the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009.
The total fine amounting to TK 50,000 imposed at that time was collected immediately.
Deputy Director of the DNCRP Rangpur Divisional Office Md Jahangir Alam, Assistant Director of the DNCRP Rangpur District Office Md Mostafizur Rahman, Badarganj Upazila Livestock Officer and Ansar-VDP members attended the campaign.
After the campaign, the DNCRP Deputy Director told reporters that such market surveillance and campaigns will continue for the public interest.
