CHATTOGRAM, Sept 5, 2026 (BSS) - At least 305 individuals have been arrested during anti-drug operations across 11 districts within the Chattogram Range.

The information was disclosed Friday night in a 24-hour report detailing the outcomes of the special anti-drug initiative.

Chattogram Range DIG Abdul Kuddus Chowdhury said that 305 individuals were taken into custody during the 24-hour period ending at 6pm Friday. During the period, authorities seized 82,860 pieces of Yaba, 21 kg 912 grams of marijuana, 500 litres of liquor, and 761 bottles of Scoff syrup.

A total of 77 individuals were arrested in connection with regular cases, while 12 were apprehended under Section 34 of the Police Act, five under Section 54 of the Criminal Procedure Code, 117 under warrants, and 21 under sentence warrants.

Additionally, he said 73 individuals were arrested for drug-related offences.

As part of the anti-drug initiative, 33 individuals were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment through mobile courts, and a total fine of Tk 9,150 was imposed.

In addition, 28 cases have been registered in connection with the drugs recovered during the campaign.
