Three die, 41 more test positive for COVID-19 in Naogaon

AOGAON, July 9, 2021 (BSS) - A number of 41 more people were diagnosed with COVID-19 positive in the last 24 hours in the district after testing 217 samples at Dhaka Medical College Hospital COVID-19 PCR laboratory, Dhaka, Rajshahi Medical College Hospital COVID-19 PCR laboratory and Naogaon 250-bed Modern Sadar Hospital COVID-19 rapid antigen testing centers.
 
Of the new positive cases, 10 are in Sadar upazila, four in Raninagar upazila, three in Atrai upazila, five in Mohadevpur upazila, four in Manda upazila, seven in Badalgachhi upazila, three in Patnitala upazila, two in Porsha upazila and three in Sapahar upazila of the district.
 
The infection rate is about 18.89 percent in the district, deputy civil surgeon of the district Dr. Manjur-A-Morshed, told BSS.
 
Meanwhile, three persons have died with coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours in the district, deputy civil surgeon of the district said.
 
The total number of infected persons in the district stood at 5,041 and the number of recovery cases stood at 3,984.
 
Meanwhile, 55 patients recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours in the district.
 
A total of 99 persons have so far died of COVID-19 in the district, he added.
 
Dr. Manjur-A-Morshed said 50 infected persons are now undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the district and rest of the infected persons are now undergoing treatment at home quarantine under the supervision of doctors from their respective upazila health complexes.
 
The health expert urged all to follow the health rules strictly and use masks to prevent the spread of the lethal virus.
 
He urged everyone to be more aware to prevent this lethal infection.
