RANGPUR, Aug 22, 2026 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) arrested alleged online gambling ring leader Rajib Kumar Adhikari, 38  from the Jahaj Company Shopping Complex Market in the city today.  
 
The DB Police sources said arrested Rajib Kumar Adhikari, widely known as ‘Casino Emperor’, is the son of Santosh Kumar Adhikari of the Dakshin Kamal Kachna area under Rangpur Metropolitan Kotwali police station.
 
Under the overall directive of RpMP Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mabud, the DB Police arrested Rajib Kumar Adhikari in a drive conducted as part of a continuous drive against online gambling, betting and cyber crimes across the city.
 
He was arrested while participating in online gambling and cashing in/cashing out gambling money on online betting sites using SMS Monitor and MFS bKash Agent SIM on mobile phones. 
 
During the operation, the DB Police recovered two android mobile phone sets of different models from the possession of the arrested person. 
 
“After filing a case in this incident against the arrested person, we have handed over him along with the seized evidences to Rangpur Metropolitan Kotwali police station,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (DB) of RpMP Sanatan Chakraborty told BSS this evening.
 
RpMP Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mabud said that RpMP is in a strict position to prevent any crime including online gambling, betting and cyber crime and is always active to prevent crime, ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
