A factory fined Tk 4 lakh for manufacturing adulterated margarine in Ctg  

CHATTOGRAM, August 19, 2026 (BSS) – Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) here has imposed a fine of Tk 4 lakh on a factory for allegedly manufacturing adulterated margarine in an unregistered manner, which poses risks to human health and the environment.

 The fine was levied following a raid on 'Quality Food Products Limited', a margarine manufacturing facility located in the Sultan Colony area of Agrabad today.

Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Masuma Akhter Kona led the drive. 

The owner of the factory was fined Tk 4 lakh under sections 33 and 39 of the Safe Food Act, 2013, with the payment collected immediately. 

Safe Food Officer Farhanur Rahman noted that various shortcomings in the required registration and safe food management practices were identified in the margarine production process at the facility.

The production of food in unhygienic conditions presents a significant threat to public health. 
Efforts, including campaigns and legal actions against such establishments, will persist to guarantee safe food for consumers.
