RAJSHAHI, Aug 1, 2026 (BSS)- The tree plantation program, discussion meeting, prize distribution and cultural program were held at the initiative of Bangladesh Shishu Academy, Rajshahi today
The tree plantation event was organized with the aim of fostering children's love for trees and encouraging afforestation with the cooperation of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC).
The event was held this afternoon at Shishu Academy auditorium, where the RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton was present as the chief guest.
At the event, winning students of various competitions were awarded prizes by the RCC Administrator. Later, he planted trees on the Shishu Academy premises.
In his speech Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman said children are the future assets of a country. Ensuring their healthy physical, mental, intellectual and moral development is the responsibility of the family, society and the state.
Shishu Academy is working towards that goal. “I thank them for today's arrangement, " He said.
At the same time, the RCC Administrator assured of continued cooperation for the development of Rajshahi Shishu Academy.
He further said, as part of the 25 crore tree plantation in 5 years announced by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, a program to plant two and a half lakh trees is being implemented in Rajshahi metropolis.
He said hopefully, we will be able to plant more trees than the target.
At that time, the RCC Administrator urged everyone to plant at least one tree and take care of it. At the same time, he urged not to throw garbage in the drains.
The program was presided over by District Children's Affairs Officer of Rajshahi Shishu Academy, Manjurul Qadir.
Present at the event were eminent music guru Sri Manjushree Roy, member of Rajshahi Shishu Academy and Member Secretary of Rajshahi Metropolitan JASAS, cultural personality Selim Reza.
Students from various educational institutions, parents, teachers, officers and employees of Shishu Academy and distinguished persons were present at the event.
