KHULNA, Jan 26, 2022 (BSS) – Bangladesh Customs today celebrated the International Customs Day-2022.  

Khulna-Mongla Regional Committee under the NBR has taken elaborate programmes marking the day.

KCC mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque addressed a seminar held at a city hotel as the chief guest with commissioner of Mongla Custom house Suresh Chandra Biswas in the chair.

Mentioning that revenue collection has increased four times in the last decade, the mayor said custom has an important role to enhance internal revenue.

He also urged custom officials, employees, businessmen, C&F Agent to perform their duties with utmost sincerity so that Bangladesh can be turned into a developed country by 2041.

Commissioner of Khulna Customs, EXCISE and VAT (Appeal) commissionerate Muhammad Zakir Hossain chaired the meeting.

Comodore of Mongla port Authority Md Abdul Wadud Tarafdar, Commissioner of Khulna Tax Appeal Zone ASM Waheduzzaman, President of Bagerhat Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Liakat Hossain and president of Mongla Clearing and Forwarding Agents Association Sultan Hossain Khan, among others, spoke on the occasion .

Joint Commissioner of Mongla Customs House Mahfuz Ahmed presented the key note paper while deputy commissioner Md Mehbub Haque delivered the welcome speech.
