RAJSHAHI, July 22, 2026 (BSS) – Members of the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) arrested an alleged drug peddler with 1.5 kilograms of heroin in Rajshahi in the early hours of today.

DNC officials said the arrestee, Iqbal Hasan, 24, was detained during a raid in the Saroil area of Godagari Upazila at around 2:30am.

Deputy Director of the DNC Mehedi Hasan said the raid was carried out based on a tip-off. During the operation, officials recovered a school bag from Iqbal containing 15 packets of heroin, each weighing 100 grams and wrapped in Scotch tape.
