KHULNA, July 06, 2026 (BSS)- Administrator of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Nazrul Islam Manju today inspected ongoing drainage cleaning and maintenance activities in different areas of the city.

Speaking with journalists and local residents during the visit, the administrator said the city corporation is removing sludge from drains to ease public suffering caused by water logging and poor drainage.

He said the removal of sludge would improve water drainage system eliminating the mosquito breeding grounds. However, he stressed that long-term benefits would depend on the active cooperation of the citizens. 

Manju urged the residents not to dump household waste in the drains. Instead, he requested them to store waste in bags and dispose of it at designated areas or nearby dustbins to help maintain a clean urban environment.

During the inspection, he visited the drain cleaning and slush removal works on both sides of Bagmara Main Road and toured several other areas under the two wards.
