RAJSHAHI, May 21, 2026 (BSS) - Citizens expressed satisfaction after receiving immediate services through nine help booths at the three-day Land Service Fair held on the premises of the Boalia Thana Land Office in Rajshahi.
Organized by the district administration, more than one thousand service seekers availed various types of land-related services at the fair.
Positive reactions were observed among recipients due to the speed and ease of service.
The fair was organized with the aim of simplifying land services, increasing public connection with digital platforms, and delivering people-friendly services at the grassroots level.
At the fair, citizens were given direct guidance on services including registration on the land portal, e-mutation applications, online payment of land development tax (khajna), collection of khatian and DCR, and obtaining mouza maps.
Alongside this, many services were provided instantly, reducing time and hassle for service seekers.
A visit to the various booths showed the e-mutation service booth had the largest crowd.
Relevant officials directly assisted service seekers in submitting applications online. Many were able to complete mutation applications right on the fairgrounds.
Similarly, recipients quickly received necessary documents from the booth distributing certified copies of khatian.
Booths for land development tax payment also saw a huge response. Awareness was raised about the online khajna payment process, and through immediate assistance, many were able to easily clear their outstanding taxes.
In addition, the Settlement Office booth provided information regarding the BDS survey, which helped resolve land-related complexities.
Attendees were also informed about the national hotline 16122 and the divisional administration’s special hotline for lodging land service-related complaints.
Additionally, an informative booklet titled ‘Bhumi Amar Thikana’ (Land Is My Address) was distributed, enabling the general public to understand land services in simple language.
Satisfaction was evident in the experiences of service recipients.
Touhidul Islam from Shiroil Colony said, “Land office services are now much easier than before.”
Hasmat Ali from the Barakuthi area noted, “Work is faster due to the digital system.”
Bhupati Ranjan Biswas from Fudkipara said he received approval to pay khajna online in a very short time.
Among the nine service booths set up at the fair, the Record Room of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office secured first place based on service quality and efficiency.
The Zonal Settlement Office came second, and the Sub-Registrar’s Office took third place. Representatives of the winning booths were awarded at the closing ceremony.
Divisional Commissioner Dr. A.N.M. Bazlur Rashid attended the closing and award ceremony held this noon as the chief guest.
He said, “The current era is technology-dependent. The government has brought land management under automation and delivered services to the doorsteps of the common people.”
He added that the technical skills of the youth must be utilized to make this service even more effective.
The event was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam.
Also present were Zila Parishad Administrator Advocate Ershad Ali Isha; Additional Divisional Commissioner Dr. Chitralekha Nazneen; Superintendent of Police Naimul Hassan; Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohinul Hasan and Senior Assistant Commissioner Abhijit Sarkar; and other relevant officials.
