BAGERHAT, May 20, 2026 (BSS) - The Fire Service and Civil Defense Week-2026 was inaugurated on Monday morning at the Mollahat station compound under the theme, "Only one path for fire fighters, we will keep our wealth and lives safe." 

Following the hoisting of the national and departmental flags, a colorful procession featuring safety banners and disaster awareness messages paraded through the upazila's main roads. 

The event drew participation from fire service personnel, students and local dignitaries.

Speaking as the chief guest, Upazila Executive Officer Sumona Airin praised the fire service's tireless dedication to disaster relief and humanitarian crises. 

She stressed that increasing community awareness is crucial for preventing accidents, protecting lives and safeguarding property, urging citizens to strictly follow fire safety guidelines and report emergencies promptly.
