City dwellers to get a clean city in 2nd day of Eid: RCC

RAJSHAHI, May 20, 2026 (BSS)- A coordination meeting was held with the staff 
of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) regarding the proper implementation of 
quick removal of sacrificial animal waste on the occasion of Holy Eid-ul-Adha 
2026. 

The meeting was held today at the Annex Hall Room of Nagar Bhaban while 
Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton attended it 
as the chief guest.
 
In the meeting, the RCC Administrator instructed everyone to work responsibly 
to remove sacrificial waste quickly.
 
At that time, the ward secretaries, ward supervisors, monitoring officers of 
the cleaning department, sanitation inspectors, and central supervisors 
expressed their commitment to remove sacrificial waste properly within a 
short time. 

RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton said, "Prime Minister Tarique Rahman 
has given me the opportunity to serve the city residents. I have been 
continuing to try to fulfill that responsibility properly. Everyone must play 
a responsible role in quickly removing the upcoming sacrificial waste."

"We want to present a clean city to the residents of Rajshahi Metropolitan 
City the day after Eid [2nd day of the celebration]. All waste will be 
removed by the night following Eid day," he added.
 
The RCC Administrator said, "For the first time, on behalf of RCC, citizens 
will be provided with eco-friendly bags for hygienically storing sacrificial 
meat and eco-friendly bags and bleaching powder for waste removal.

I request city residents not to throw sacrificial waste here and there, but to dispose 
of it in designated places." 

He further said, "I want to make Rajshahi known as a clean city not only in 
the country but across the world. I seek everyone's overall cooperation in 
this work." 

The meeting was presided over by RCC Chief Executive Officer Rezaul Karim. 
Also present at the meeting were RCC Secretary Sohel Rana, Chief Conservancy 
Officer Sheikh Mamun Dollar, and Superintending Engineer Ahmad Al Moeen.
