CHUADANGA, May 18, 2026 (BSS) - The National Consumer Rights Protection epartment fined three business establishments a total of Taka 70,000 during a mobile court drive conducted in Damurhuda upazila of the district today for various irregularities, including selling gas without a license, expired seeds and baby food lacking proper information.
The drive was carried out from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm in the Atkabar and Karpasdanga areas under the supervision of Mohammad Mamunul Hasan, Assistant Director of the Chuadanga District Office of the National Consumer Rights Protection Department.
According to district office sources, Md. Abdur Barek's business establishment, M/s Ma Auto, was fined Taka 5,000 for selling gas without a valid license.
Meanwhile, Md. Beltu Mia's establishment, Messrs. Tisam Seed and Bag House, was fined Taka 15,000 for selling expired seeds.
Besides, Messrs. Harun Store, owned by Md. Harun Or Rashid, was fined Taka 50,000 for selling baby food without displaying necessary information, including the production date.
During the operation, authorities also destroyed two sacks of juice bars publicly.
Salma Jahan Nipa, field officer of the District Seed Certification Office, CAB representative Md. Rafiqul Islam, and members of law enforcement agencies were present during the drive.
