Ensuring safe home coming during Eid vacation stressed in Jamalpur meeting

JAMALPUR, May 17, 2026 (BSS) - Participants at a monthly development coordination meeting stressed the safety of home coming people on roads and river routes  during Eid-ul-Azha  vacation. 

They also laid emphasis on waste management of sacrificial animals  and preservation of hides on Eid day.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Yusuf Ali while presiding  over the meeting at his conference room directed the Upazila Nirbahi Officers and police to monitor and ensure the safe journey of the people. 

He also instructed for proper preservation of sacrificial hides so that the traders get fair prices of it and no hide is rotten.

In the meeting Civil Surgeon said anti venom vaccine and rabix vaccine are available in district and Upazila level Hospital. “Now no snake bite patient will have be referred anywhere and the health department has successfully completed the Measles -Rubella vaccination campaign in the district,” he informed the meeting.

Civil Surgeon, Dr Mohammad Azizul Haque, Additional Superintendent of Police, Yahia Al Mahmud, Jamalpur Municipality Administrator, Mousumi Khanam, Assistant Director, Jamalpur 250-bed hospital, Dr Muhammad Mahfujur Rahman and Deputy Director, Department of Agriculture Extension, Mohammad Alam Sharif Khan  spoke, among others, at the meeting.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Afsana Taslim conducted the meeting.
