NARSINGDI, May 14, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court in Amirganj area of Raipura upazila in Narsingdi arrested a drug dealer and a drug addict during a special drive and later sentenced them to different terms of imprisonment. 

The drive was conducted around 11:30 pm on Wednesday night. 

The arrested drug dealer was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment, while the drug addict was awarded one month’s imprisonment by the mobile court. 

Raipura Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Masud Rana conducted the mobile court. 

Md. Mojibur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Raipura Police Station, Investigation Officer Probir, along with a team of police personnel, provided overall assistance during the drive. 

UNO Md. Masud Rana said the administration remains firm against drugs and such drives will continue in the greater public interest.
