Manju calls for long-term planning for future

KHULNA, May 13, 2026 (BSS) - Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Administrator Nazrul Islam Manju today said the current global situation has created new challenges, making long-term planning essential for the future.

He said Bangladesh has limited employment opportunities, and students must be educated in information technology and technical skills to become globally competitive human resources.

The KCC administrator made the remarks while addressing a programme at Khan Jahan Ali Science and Technology College in Boyra on Wednesday, marking its 24th anniversary. The event also included an orientation for newly admitted students, a reception for meritorious students and a cultural programme.

At the event, Manju distributed honorary crests among outstanding students.

Welcoming the students to their new academic journey, he said the government has introduced bank loan facilities to facilitate overseas education for students. He also noted that agreements are being signed with different countries to create dignified employment opportunities abroad.

Principal Engineer Md Abdul Kalam Azad presided over the programme.

Among others, Professor Dr Md Hasanuzzaman of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Khulna University Controller of Examinations Sheikh Sharafat Ali, and former KCC councillor Rabeya Fahid Hasnahena addressed the event as special guests. 

Academic In-Charge and Electrical Instructor Tulip Ghosh delivered the welcome speech, while Advocate Sheikh Oliul Islam, legal adviser of the college, conducted the programme.
