CHUADANGA, May 12, 2026 (BSS) - The government-run Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has launched mobile truck sales program in the district ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha to provide essential commodities to consumers at subsidized prices.
The sales program began on May 11 and will continue until May 21 across 10 designated points in the district. Under the initiative, consumers are being offered sugar, lentils and soybean oil at affordable prices through TCB mobile trucks.
According to the district administration, each package includes one kilogram of sugar, two kilograms of lentils and two liters of soybean oil.
Around 4,000 consumers are expected to benefit from the program every day, while a total of 40,000 consumers will receive the products during the 10-day campaign.
Under the subsidized pricing system, sugar is being sold at Taka 80 per kilogram, lentils at Taka 70 per kilogram and edible oil at Taka 130 per liter. The complete package is available for Taka 480.
Officials said the products are being distributed through 37 dealers operating in four upazilas of the district. Sales are taking place every morning except Friday through 10 mobile trucks stationed at fixed locations.
District Marketing Officer (Current Duty) Shahidul Islam said the initiative was launched to keep essential commodity prices within consumers' reach during Eid-ul-Azha.
