RAJSHAHI, May 12, 2026 (BSS)- A free health camp for street children and their guardians was organized at the Padma Drop-in Center under the Alokito Shishu Project of Caritas Rajshahi Region today.
A total of 43 people consisting of 19 boys, 21 girls, and 3 female guardians received treatment free of cost in the health camp.
Dr. Tapu Kumar Ghosh from Department of Community Medicine at Barind Medical College conducted the camp.
Program Officer Rancy Ruth Hansda, Junior Program Officer Faridul Islam and Paramedic Sumona Khatun were present.
In addition, Field Officers Leena Rosario and Samuel Baskey were also present.
Program Officer Rancy Ruth Hansda told BSS that around 850 children from slums and underprivileged families in Rajshahi are receiving education, healthcare, nutrition, psychosocial support and shelter services through the initiative.
The project aims to protect the rights of street-connected children by providing them with access to basic needs, rehabilitation support and awareness on child rights among communities and local authorities.
