BGB seizes narcotics in Dinajpur border area

DINAJPUR, May 11, 2026 (BSS) - Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 2,000 intoxicating tablets and 500 injections during an anti-smuggling drive in the Dainapur border area of Sadar upazila.

The information was confirmed in a press release issued at 11:00 am today by Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Arif-Uz-Zaman, commanding officer of BGB Battalion 29 in Fulbari.

According to the release, BGB personnel conducted the operation early morning in the border-adjacent Dainur area under Sadar upazila.

Sensing the presence of the border force, suspected drug traffickers fled the scene, leaving behind the narcotics.

The recovered items included 2,000 pieces of intoxicating tablets and 500 injections, with an estimated market value of Taka 235,000, the release added.
