BAGERHAT, May 10, 2026 (BSS) – Two giant bulls named ‘Kalu’ and ‘Dholu’ have drawn huge attention in Morelganj upazila of Bagerhat district ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, as their owner announced special gifts for buyers.

Farm owner Tajul Islam said buyers of the two bulls would receive two goats worth around Tk 50,000 as gifts.

The exceptional bulls have been raised at “Taju Dairy Farm” in West Khaulia village under Khaulia union of Morelganj upazila.

Tajul Islam claimed that ‘Kalu’, weighing about 40 maunds, could be the largest bull in Bagerhat district. The black-and-white Friesian bull is about seven feet long and its price has been fixed at Tk 15 lakh.

Another bull named ‘Dholu’, raised at the same farm, weighs around 25 maunds and is priced at Tk 10 lakh.

Talking to BSS, Tajul Islam said this was the first time he had raised bulls of such massive size.

“Traders and visitors from different parts of the country are coming to see the cattle. Many are taking photos and videos and sharing them on social media,” he added.

He said the bulls were reared entirely through traditional methods. They were fed green grass, bran and husk, while no hybrid or harmful feed was used.

Tajul Islam said the farm is cleaned every morning and the bulls are raised over 28 to 29 months through regular bathing and proper care.

Although dairy farming is his main profession, he rears a number of bulls every year ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, he added.
