JAMALPUR, May 6, 2026 (BSS) - A 29-years-old man was killed by lightning strike in Dewanganj upazila here in the district this afternoon.

The victim was identified as Sohel, son of Shukur Mahmud at village Najirpur in the upazila.

Police said Sohel was working at a maize field in the area when he was hit by a strong thunderbolt and died on the spot.

Dewanganj Model Police Station Office-in-Charge Anowar Hossain confirmed the incident.
