Calves, poultry distributed among needy families in Bandarban

BANDARBAN, May 5, 2026 (BSS) - Calves and poultry were distributed among needy and helpless families in Rowangchhari upazila of the district on Tuesday, aiming to support livelihood development for vulnerable households.

The distribution program was held at Antahpara of Noaptang Union under Rowangchhari upazila, where Saching Pru Jery, Member of Parliament for Constituency No. 300 (Bandarban), attended as the chief guest and formally handed over livestock to the beneficiaries.

The event was presided over by Mong Mong Singh. Rowangchhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tajmin Alam Tuli attended as special guest. 

Among others present were Officer-in-Charge of Rowangchhari Police Station Md. Humayun Kabir, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Mehedi Zaman, and Chairman of Noaptang Union Parishad Chanumong Marma.

Officials said calves and poultry were distributed among a total of 664 families across Rowangchhari Sadar Union, Taracha, Alexyang, and Noaptang unions. Of them, 150 families received one cow each, 314 families received 11 chickens each, and 100 families received 11 ducks each.
