CHATTOGRAM, May 5, 2026 (BSS): Detectives of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) in a special operation in the gate area of city’s Panchlaish police station arrested two drug peddlers with 175 grams of crystal ice. 

The value of the drugs is estimated at TK 17.50 lakh, according to the detectives of CMP.
 
Inspector Md. Aftab Hossain of the   Detective Branch confirmed the arrest that took place around 8 pm on Monday.
  
Two individuals have been arrested from Fatikchhari upazila of the district. 

The arrestees are Md. Sajjadul Rahman Shakib (27) and Md. Abu Faisal (26). 

Detectives conducted the drive on the secret information that the two were selling the illegal drug crystal ice. 

In the raid, 175 grams of crystal ice worth approximately TK 17.5 lakh was seized from their possessions. 

The arrested individuals confessed during interrogation that they were members of a drug trafficking ring run by an Oman expatriate in Fatikchhari Upazila. 
 
 Police have filed a case against them under the Narcotics Act and are working to detain other members of the gang.
