CHATTOGRAM, May 5, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested a man with 50,000 yaba pills from the Shah Amanat Bridge area under Bakalia police station in the early hours of today.

The arrested was identified as Ashiqul Islam, 30, from Gobindapur in Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj district.

Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Ashiqul from Shaheed Bashruzzaman Golchattar road from the Shah Amanat Bridge area under Bakalia police station around 4:45 am. 

The police recovered 50,000 yaba pills from him.

A case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act.
