RAJSHAHI, May 4, 2026 (BSS) – Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milon, MP, has said that students will be the ambassadors of Bangladesh in the future, so sports must be pursued alongside studies for the development of both intellect and physique.

He said, “There is no alternative to sports alongside education to build oneself. Children should be given the opportunity to pursue what they are interested in—whether singing, music or any other talent. We want to create an environment where every child can move forward according to their dreams.”

He made the remarks as the chief guest at the closing and prize-giving ceremony of the Primary School Gold Cup Football Tournament (Boys & Girls), held this afternoon at the Duari Government Primary School field in Paba Upazila.

Emphasising the importance of moral education, he said, “Children and adolescents must be raised with religious and moral values. The lack of moral education often leads young people astray. That is why this initiative is extremely important for shaping human beings as true human beings.”

The event was presided over by Paba Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Ibnul Abedin.

Upazila Education Officer Jobaida Jahan Roushan delivered the welcome address.

Special guests included Upazila Agriculture Officer M A Mannan, former mayor of Nowhata Municipality Mokbul Hossain, and other local political and social figures.

In the upazila-level tournament, Hariyan Government Primary School became champions in the boys’ division, while Pakuria Government Primary School won the girls’ division.
