GOPALGANJ, May 4, 2026 (BSS) - A van puller was killed in a road accident on Monday morning in Sadar upazila here after a passenger bus struck his vehicle on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway.

The deceased was identified as Jhantu Molla, 45, son of Akubbar Molla, a resident of Meri Gopinathpur Charpara village in the upazila.

According to police and local sources, the accident occurred in Gopinathpur area when a Khulna-bound bus of 'Falguni Paribahan' coming from Dhaka collided with a battery-powered easy bike and a van. Jhantu Molla, who was driving the van, died on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge of Bhatiapara Highway Police Station Roknuzzaman confirmed the incident, stating that the bus involved has been seized.
 
The body of the deceased has been handed over to his family.

Further legal action is underway, police said.
