RAJSHAHI, May 1, 2026 (BSS) - Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has donated Taka five lakh for the development of Baitul Mamur Jame Mosque at Mizaner Mor in the city, which was affected by ongoing road development work.
RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton attended the Jummah prayer at the mosque today. After the prayer, he handed over a cheque for Taka five lakh to the mosque committee leaders on behalf of the city corporation.
He also assured continued support for the overall development of the mosque and ensuring better facilities for worshippers.
Speaking on the occasion, the RCC Administrator said that directives have been given for the development and modernization of mosques, madrasas, churches and other religious institutions. In line with that, RCC is working to improve civic services and infrastructure since assuming responsibility.
He further said that necessary development works in Ward No. 29, including roads, drains and other infrastructure, would be implemented in phases.
"Please extend your cooperation. Together, we want to present Rajshahi on the world stage," he said.
RCC Chief Executive Officer Md. Rezaul Karim, Superintending Engineer Ahmad Al Moin Parag, Executive Engineers Mahmudur Rahman Emon, Subrata Kumar Sarkar and ABM Asaduzzaman Sweet, along with other officials, mosque committee leaders, local BNP and its affiliated organisation leaders, and worshippers were present on the occasion.
