CHATTOGRAM, April 30, 2026 (BSS) - Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has arrested four persons in two separate operations, seizing a large quantity of arms and ammunition.

The arrestees were identified as Nuruddin, Hasan, Deepak and Tapas. CMP Deputy Commissioner Amirul Islam confirmed the arrests today.

Amirul Islam said Nuruddin was apprehended with a foreign pistol during an operation in the Bayezid Link Road area of the city following a tip-off.

Based on information provided by Nuruddin, Deepak and Tapas were later arrested. Another foreign pistol and 30 rounds of ammunition were seized from their residences.

In a separate operation, Hasan was arrested from the Hathazari area, and three firearms and 20 rounds of ammunition were recovered from his house.

According to police records, Hasan has five cases filed against him with Bayezid Police Station.

Deputy Commissioner Amirul Islam said such operations would continue against terrorism, juvenile gangs and drug-related crimes.
