NILPHAMARI, April 25, 2026 (BSS) - A rickshaw van driver was killed in a road accident near Shishu Niketan School and College, adjacent to the Kishoreganj upazila Parishad of the district on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Rabiul Islam, 25, a resident of Panialpukur Kholahati village in Nitai union of the upazila.

The accident took place when a sand-laden tractor hit a rickshaw van from behind, leaving van puller Rabiul injured critically.

Rabiul was sent to the upazila health complex where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Kishoreganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Lutfar Rahman confirmed the incident.

The body of the deceased will be handed over to his family after completion of the formalities. 

Authorities have seized the tractor.
