
CHATTOGRAM, Jan 10, 2022 (BSS) - A Chattogram court today awarded life
term imprisonment to a man for killing his wife over a family feud in 1994.
Chattogram Metropolitan Session Judge Sheikh Asfakur Rahman pronounced
the verdict.
The court also fined convict Alek Shah, hailing from Netrakona district,
Taka 50,000 in default, to suffer one year more imprisonment.
According to prosecution the convict Alek Shah killed his wife Aysha
Moni, 25, over a family feud at his rented residence on October 25 in 2016.
Police recovered the body beside his residence on October 26 in 2016.
Victim's mother filed a murder case with CEPZ Thana on the same day against
Alek Shah.
Police submitted charge sheet on December 6 in the same year and the
court framed charges against him on July 12 in 2017.
The court, after examining 11 prosecution witnesses out of 14, handed
down the verdict in presence of Alek Shah.
