RANGPUR, Jan 7, 2022 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of Rangpur
Metropolitan Police (RpMP) arrested a presumed drug trader with two kilograms
of contraband ganja from Tinmatha Khasbag area in the metropolis on Thursday
afternoon.

     "On a tip off, a team of DB police led by Inspector Saleh Ahmed Pathan
conducted a raid and arrested the man with the ganja from the spot," a press
release issued by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DB and Media) of
RpMP Sajjad Hossain said today.

     The arrested person was identified as Md. Abdul Hye, 30, son of late Md.
Chan Mian of village Hariswar Taluk Khaspara in Rajarhat upazila of Kurigram
district.  

     "After filing a case in this connection, the DB police handed him over
to Kotwali police station of RpMP," the release added.
