NATORE, March 24, 2026 (BSS) - Three people were killed and five others injured in a tragic road accident in Lalpur upazila of the district this morning.
 
The deceased were identified as Jahidul Islam, 50, son of Joha Master , Monir Hossain, 27, son of Sekender Ali , Babul , 40 , son of Fazlur Rahman , All were residents of Chhotobatkoya village in Lalpur upazila.
 
The accident occurred around 7.00 am in Nabinagar area along the Lalpur-Ishwardi regional road, when a sand-laden truck collided head-on with an easy-bike carrying several passengers.
 
According to local sources, Jahidul died on the spot, while six others, including the easy bike driver, sustained injuries. 

The injured were rescued and sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where another victim succumbed to his injuries.

Monir died on the way in the Charghat area, while Babul died after reaching the hospital.

Hospital sources confirmed that four patients are currently undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, while another injured has been admitted to Lalpur Upazila Health Complex.
 
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lalpur Police Station Mujibur Rahman confirmed the matter.
 
Police have seized the truck involved in the accident, and further legal action is underway , OC added.
