FENI, March 22, 2026 (BSS) - Three people were killed and at least five others injured in a collision involving a bus, an ambulance, and a motorcycle in the Rampur area of the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway near Feni town early this morning.
The deceased were identified as Md. Morshed, 39, son of late Moktadur Rahman, from Bangla Motor, New Eskaton, Ramna, Dhaka, Md. Sohag Rahman , 31, son of Md. Mojibur Rahman, Shahidnagar, Lalbagh, Dhaka and Mohammad Kayes, 25, supervisor of Doel Paribahan bus, son of Ahmad Kabir, Hashimpur, Chandanaish, Chattogram.
The injured have been admitted to different hospitals.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohipal Highway Police Station, Asadul Islam, said that repair work was ongoing on one lane of the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in the Feni-Rampur area.
An ambulance was slowly passing through the other lane when a bus of Shyamoli Paribahan hit it from behind, he said.
Following the collision, an argument broke out between the bus and ambulance personnel, causing a traffic jam involving a motorcycle and several other buses, he added.
Shortly afterward, a Doel Paribahan bus, coming at a high speed, rammed into the congested vehicles killing the motorcyclist, bus supervisor, and a passenger on the spot, he said.
Asadul Islam said the bodies have been kept at the morgue of Feni Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Further legal steps are underway, the OC said.
