RAJSHAHI, March 20, 2026 (BSS)- The main congregation of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr in Rajshahi will be held at 8:00 am.
As in previous years, the principal Eid jamaat will take place at the Hazrat Shah Makhdum Ruposh (RA) Central Eidgah Maidan.
However, if the weather is unfavorable on Eid day, the main congregation will instead be held at the Shah Makhdum Ruposh (RA) Dargah Mosque at the same time.
This decision was made during a district administration preparation meeting held on March 11. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Sabur Ali confirmed the information.
According to the district administration, full preparations have almost been completed for the main Eid congregation.
After the prayer, Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP, Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, and Divisional Commissioner Dr ANM Bazlur Rashid will exchange Eid greetings with worshippers there.
In line with the district-level schedule, Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) have also been instructed to organize Eid prayers accordingly.
In other Eidgahs across Rajshahi, congregations will be held between 7:30 am and 8:30 am.
Meanwhile, the second main Eid congregation in Rajshahi will be held at 7:30 am at the City Eidgah in Tikapara, with a second jamaat there at 8:30 am.
In case of rain, the prayers will be held at the nearby Tikapara Mohammadpur Jame Mosque Complex. Additionally, the third largest Eid congregation will be held at 8:15 am at Shaheb Bazar Zero Point in the city, where a single jamaat will take place on the main road.
The Eid-ul-Fitr congregational prayer at Rajshahi University (RU) will be held at 8:00 am on Eid day at the Central Jame Mosque.
Separate entry routes and a designated pandal have been arranged for female worshippers to participate in the Eid congregation.
Female worshippers will enter through the BNCC gate adjacent to the university’s main gate and will exit through the same route after the prayer.
At Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) Jame Mosque, the Eid jamaat will be held at 7:00 am.
On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton inspected the preparations for the Eid prayer at the Hazrat Shah Makhdum Ruposh (RA) Central Eidgah. He visited the site on Tuesday and reviewed the overall arrangements for the prayers. He also inspected the Tikapara Eidgah.
