NAOGAON, Mar 19, 2026 (BSS)- A tractor driver and his helper were killed and another helper injured in a road accident at Khanpukur area under Raninagar upazila of the district today.

The accident took place around 11:30 am when the tractor driver lost control over the vehicle and rammed into a roadside tree. The brick-laden tractor was heading towards Abadpukur from Raninagar. 

The deceased were identified as driver Rabbi 25, son of Muslim of Chakkutub area, and helper Himel 25, son of Sardar Ali of Trimohoni area of the upazila. Another helper, Atikul, 17, son of Rezaul Islam of Chakkutub area was injured in the accident.

Members of Raninagar Fire Service rescued them and took them to Raninagar Health Complex. Later, the injured persons were shifted to Naogaon Sadar Hospital where on-duty doctor declared driver Rabbi and helper Himel dead.
