NETROKONA, Mar 18, 2026 (BSS) - A woman motorcyclist was killed in a road accident around 12:30 pm today on the Khaliajuri–Nayapara road in Khaliajuri upazila of the district.

The deceased, Zaki Das, 42, was the wife of the late Nagendra Das of Bazar Kandi village under Shalla police station in Sunamganj district.

According to police and local sources, Zaki Das was returning to her home in Shalla, Sunamganj from Dhaka by motorcycle.

At around 12:30 pm, after crossing the Rasulpur ferry ghat, she was heading towards the Khaliajuri upazila sadar.

On the way, upon reaching a curve on the Khaliajuri–Nayapara road in Laxmipur village, the motorcyclist suddenly lost control over the bike and fell onto the road, sustaining serious injuries.

Immediately after the accident, locals rescued her and took her to Khaliajuri Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared her dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khaliajuri Police Station Nasir Uddin said police rushed to the scene upon receiving the news. After completing legal procedures, the body was handed over to the victim’s family.
