GAIBANDHA, March 17, 2026 (BSS) - District unit of Police Nari Kalyan Samity (PUNAK) distributed Eid materials among helpless and poor people in the district to help them celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of Muslims, in a festive manner.
On this occasion, a function was held at the drill shed of the police lines in the town on Monday with district PUNAK chairperson Israt Jahan Bithi in the chair.
Superintendent of Police Md. Jashim Uddin attended the programme as the chief guest and distributed the Eid materials among the beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion, he said PUNAK is a social platform formed with the wives of senior police officials, aimed at ensuring the welfare of underprivileged people.
As part of its social responsibility, the organisation has taken the initiative to stand beside the poor so they can celebrate the Eid festival peacefully, he added.
General Secretary of district PUNAK Kazrima Akhter, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Sharif Al Razib, Additional SP (B-Circle) Sheikh Mottazul Islam and Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Thana Abdullah Al Mamun, among others, were present.
