CHATTOGRAM, March 16, 2026 (BSS) - The nephrology department at Chattogram Medical College (CMCH) Hospital has recently received four new modern dialysis machines to enhance the treatment of kidney patients.
This brings the total number of dialysis machines in the department to 18. The machines were installed in Ward No. 17 (Nephrology Department) of CMCH Hospital with funding from KSRM, a prominent industrial institution in the country.
The inauguration of the new machines was held on Monday, with city Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain attended the function as the chief guest.
KSRM DMD Nabab Sirajuddaula was a special guest at the event, which was chaired by CMCH Hospital Director Brigadier General Mohammad Taslim Uddin.
Dr. Shahadat Hossain mentioned that the new dialysis machines will enhance medical services for kidney disease patients, making them more accessible and efficient. This will also increase the capacity of the hospital's nephrology department. Brigadier General Mohammad Taslim Uddin, the Director of CMCH Hospital, expressed that the new machines will enable more kidney patients to receive high-quality medical care daily.
The inauguration event was attended by CMCH Vice-Principal Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rob, Head of the Department of Nephrology Professor Dr. Nurul Huda, President of DAB Chattogram District Branch Dr. Tamiz Uddin Ahmed, General Secretary Dr. Fayezur Rahman, and General Secretary of DAB CMCH Dr. Belayet Hossain Dhali, among others.
Apart from the Nephrology Department at CMCH Hospital, the private organization Sandor also offers dialysis services. Sandor has 31 machines, and the Nephrology Department has 14 dialysis machines, allowing patients to undergo dialysis at subsidized rates.
