BOGURA, March 16, 2026 (BSS) - AKM Ahasanul Toyeb Zakir has taken charge as the administrator of Bogura Zilla Parishad.

He formally took over the responsibility from the parishad’s Chief Executive Officer Golam Md Shahnewaz at a ceremony held at the Zilla Parishad auditorium at 2pm today.

Later, officials of the Zilla Parishad and leaders of the district unit of BNP and its associate organisations welcomed him with floral greetings.

Among others present at the event were Bogura district BNP president Rezaul Karim Badsha; advisers to the BNP chairperson Advocate Mahbubur Rahman and Helaluzzaman Talukder Lalu; former district BNP president VP Saiful Islam; BNP executive committee member Ali Azgar Talukder Hena; and district BNP acting general secretary Mosharraf Hossain MP.

Earlier on Sunday, Ahasanul Toyeb was appointed administrator of the Bogura Zilla Parishad.

He is the senior vice-president of the Bogura district unit of BNP. He was the founding president of Sonatala Upazila Chhatra Dal and also served as general secretary of the upazila BNP. He was elected president of Sonatala Upazila BNP four times.

He also served as administrator of Sonatala Municipality and was twice elected chairman of Sonatala Upazila Parishad.
