RAJSHAHI, March 14, 2026 (BSS) - The Department of Narcotics Control has recovered a narcotic substance called Eskaf syrup during a raid in Rajshahi.
The operation was conducted at 9:00 am on Saturday in the Saroil area along the Rajshahi–Chapainawabganj highway.
During the drive, two drug traffickers were arrested and a private car used to transport the narcotics was seized.
This information was provided in a press release issued by the Rajshahi office of the Department of Narcotics Control.
According to the press release, based on a tip-off, officials searched a private car (Dhaka Metro-G-23-6141) traveling from Chapainawabganj to Dhaka at around 9:00 am.
During the search, 215 bottles of Eskaf syrup were recovered from a specially constructed hidden chamber at the rear end of the car.
The estimated value of the seized syrup is about Tk 650,000.
During the operation, two drug traffickers—Tuhin Fakir, 26, from the Khilgaon area of Dhaka metropolitan city and Siam, 25, from Mukundapur area under Bijoynagar Police Station in Brahmanbaria—were arrested.
A case has been filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act with the concerned Godagari Police Station.
The seized private car has also been handed over to the authorities, the press release added.
