RANGPUR, Mar 13, 2026 (BSS) – A stone-laden truck and a urea fertiliser-laden BRTC truck collided head-on here today killing both drivers of the transports on the spot.

The accident took place at Hajipur Kharubhaj Bridge on Rangpur-Dinajpur highway in Taraganj upazila at 7.30 am. 

 
The stone carrying truck was coming to Rangpur from Panchagarh while urea fertiliser-laden BRTC truck was on way to Saidpur from Rangpur.
 
The deceased drivers were identified as Idris Ali, 35, of Jhenaidah district and Ariful Haque, 37, of Patuakhali district, Taraganj Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Mostafizur Rahman told BSS.
 
After receiving information Taraganj Highway Police rushed to the spot and started rescue work and recovered the bodies.

 
The two damaged trucks have been seized and a case has been filed at Taraganj police station in this connection, he said.
