RANGPUR, March 12, 2026 (BSS) - The Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) authority has inaugurated a sub-control room at the city's southern entrance 
point Modern Intersection to ensure a smooth Eid journey.
 
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Majid Ali formally inaugurated the sub-control room in a simple ceremony held there on Thursday afternoon as the 
chief guest. 
 
Deputy Commander of RAB-13 Major Md Saiful Islam and General Secretary of the District Motor Owners' Association Wasim Bari Raj spoke at the inaugural 
ceremony as special guests. 
 
The sub-control room will work round the clock to serve Eid-bound passengers and post-Eid commuters.
 
The RpMP and RAB-13 will work round the clock to prevent extortion, 'Oggyan' parties, and 'Malam' parties at the bus stands and terminals. 
 
Addressing the occasion, RpMP Commissioner Md Majid Ali said, "Like every year, we have launched the sub-control room this year too." 

The police members deployed here will work round the clock to solve various problems of the common passengers. 
 
He urged the bus owners not to transport people on the roof of buses around the Eid-ul-Fitr festival. 
 
"Innumerable people are killed every year due to accidents. Besides, no type of vehicle can be kept on the road for smooth movement. The police will work 
to prevent the movement of three-wheelers on the highway around Eid," he said.
