Iftar distributed among orphans seeking eternal peace for Khaleda Zia

KHULNA, March 10, 2026 (BSS) - An iftar distribution programme for orphans and a doa mahfil were held at Darus Sunnah Madrasa in Khulna city, seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

The programme was organised on behalf of BSS Chairman and Joint Editor of the Daily Ittefaq Anwar Al-Deen.

Member Secretary of the USA Zia Parishad Md Zakir Howlader attended the event as the chief guest.

Highlighting the significance of the holy month of Ramadan, the chief guest emphasised the importance of compassion and humanitarian values.

He said Ramadan teaches people self-restraint, empathy and the spirit of helping the underprivileged, adding that standing beside the poor and helpless during the holy month is a moral responsibility for all.

A special doa and munajat were offered at the programme seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of Begum Khaleda Zia. Prayers were also offered for the peace and prosperity of the country, the welfare of the Muslim Ummah, and for the blessings and mercy of Almighty Allah for the orphans and destitute people.

The programme was supervised by former assistant organising secretary of Khulna district Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, Md Tanvir Alam Chanchal.

Among others, former central leader of Swechchhasebak Dal Md Shahriar Rahman Babu, former joint secretary of Khulna district Chhatra Dal Md Helal Uddin Helal, and leaders and activists of various social and political organisations were present.

Later, iftar items were distributed among the orphan children and a special prayer was offered seeking the welfare of the country and the nation.
