SUNAMGANJ, March 9, 2026 (BSS) - A seven-year-old boy, Sujit Barman, tragically died after being electrocuted by a lighting wire at a wedding ceremony at Khalahati village under Tahirpur upazila of the district this morning.

Sujit, son of Satyamoy Barman, was electrocuted when he accidentally touched a lighting wire stretched in the courtyard of the house where wedding preparations were underway. He died instantly.

Sub-Inspector Nazmul Islam of Tahirpur Police Station confirmed that the child died due to electrocution from the wedding hall's electrical wire.
