CHATTOGRAM, March 9, 2026 (BSS)- The 44th weekly tea sale of the year took
place here today, with strong demand for almost all categories offered at the auction.
Market sources reported continued strong demand for select lines of well-
made, good-liquoring varieties, particularly sought after by blenders.
Loose tea buyers also showed support, and good-liquoring dusts sold well.
CTC LEAF: 12,422 packages of tea were on offer and saw a strong demand.
BROKENS/FANNINGS: Some clean liquoring varieties were in strong demand and
sold at similar levels to previous sales. The remaining teas also sold well
and were steady to slightly higher in price. BLF teas continued to sell well
at similar levels.
DUST: 2,990 packages of tea were on offer and had a fair demand. Good quality
liquoring teas were in fair demand and sold at similar prices to previous sales.
Medium-grade teas were slightly cheaper by Taka 5/- to Taka 8/- compared to
previous levels. Plain and BLFs were less in demand and some were withdrawn.
Blenders showed strong support with decent interest from loose tea buyers.
